Summary
With the start of Christmas break, Dayna and Sandy each return to their homes. There is real effort for Sandy to prepare herself against dread. Everything she does is criticized by her mother. Her father is a bit more supportive, showing appreciation for how much she makes, although he worries over her safety.
Sandy is hugely relieved to leave her home after Christmas and head to Florida with Dayna. They've agreed they won't be returning to school in the fall, although they might pick it up again sometime.
They enjoy their beach time in Florida with their bikinis until New Year's Eve finds them returning to the same lounge they were at the year before. The manager has a budget, so they needn't pass the hat. While packing, they soon negotiate more income for the evening. Sandy told Dayna later, "Every time we did it for money I felt like I was telling my mother to go to hell."
The couple decide to get serious in purchasing an RV and making a list of what needs to be done before summer.
