Summary

Bud & John get back to find that Walt & Roger are still trying to sort out the flat cars for the return journey. Ed Sloat is unhappy that the engines are going out again straight away, but does what he can. Bud gets Betty to call in his wife Kate to help run things, even though he & Kate don't get on any more. They get on with loading the fire crews and equipment as quickly as they can, then set off. In Warsaw, Fred Linder is trying to hold the situation, the small Hoselton department has arrived to help, but Linder is wondering where the train is. Linder & Chip Halsey are discussing ways to manage the situation at the fertilizer plant without contaminating the ground water. As Linder checks the railroad tracks for drifts, he realises the wind has changed direction.
