Summary
Dave drops the boys off at school, for their first day. Afterwards he talks to Emily about renting a car, and she convinces him that he should buy one. Dave confesses to not knowing anything about owning a car (although he can drive). Emily lends him her minivan.
Later, Jason comes to help Dave with buying a car; together they visit Pat, and Dave ends up buying a 2001 Chevy Malibu. Jason also takes him to Phil Sharp to get car insurance.
In the evening, Dave and the boys have dinner with the MacRaes, where Dave learns even more surprising things about Bradfordites. Most surprising to him was the fact that Emily is the mayor.
