Summary
Ken takes Judy & Lydia for a meal, where they discuss some options of how they can reduce costs. After dropping Lydia at home, Ken & Judy go hunting for new farm equipment. Ken finds two broken down combines that he can use together to make a working machine, with help from Bob. Irene turns up and is dismayed to find her inside the machine helping Ken fix it. Bob rings Ken one day from Cloverdale, telling him he's bought a corn head for him for next to nothing, so Ken heads straight out. As she is heavily pregnant, Lori is happy to stay with Judy & Lydia while Ken & Bob are away. The snow comes down in the meantime, then Lori realises that the baby is coming. The ambulance is busy, so eventually Judy decides to drive to the hospital with Lori & Lydia in the tractor, as it will cope with the snow. On the way they have to pull cars out of drifts. Don Kohler is at the hospital when they arrive and is quick to spot a story. Ken & Bob have to leave the corn head at Sylvia's parents due to the weather. They are concerned as they can't contact anyone at home. Eventually they stop at a bar to see the weather forecast, and hear the news from the hospital.
