Summary

New Year's Day marks the end of Amy's time at the Redlite and Danny drives her to the Las Vegas airport for her flight back to Florida. Their talk assures them that despite Marsha, they can be friends and will possibly see each other sometime during the summer. Amy expects to return again to the Redlite for more shifts over the summer, too. Their goodbye kiss was surprisingly long.

Three days later, Danny returns from Piute Wells where his divorce has been granted and made official. He talks with George and plans to leave in the morning. George gives him advice, including a willingness to have him back, but hopes it would be as a last resort. Danny seems reluctant to leave his new friends.

The girls visit him that afternoon to add their goodbyes. There has been a lot of turnover in five weeks. It is slow enough for him to clock out on time and return to the Sagebrush to finish packing, albeit leaving War and Peace behind. After a early night's sleep, he returns for breakfast and final goodbyes. Patty is spending her off week in his job, complete with waitress uniform to distinguish herself from the other girls. Danny thanks Shirley for all she's taught him and he passes on to Patty some of the quiet advice he's gotten; that when she eventually leaves the Redlite, to forget her time as Peppermint Patty.
