Summary

Josh and Tiffany are staying for the Musher's Banquet, but other than collecting equipment that they've left on the trail & looking after the dogs, they've nothing much to do except spend time together & catch up on sleep. Tiffany has surrendered the other room booked for them, so they have to share one room. Tiffany suggests that she should drive back with Josh rather than fly back from Anchorage, Josh puts the final decision off until they get to Anchorage. They head to the dining room to eat, and expect to have to wait as it is busy, but they are invited to join a table by Susan Butcher & Rick Swenson, who quiz them on how they got started, how they got sponsorship from Jenny Easton, and whether they plan to run the race again. Josh & Tiffany relate how the program Susan did 9 years ago had restarted mushing in the Spearfish Lake area, and how they'd decided to make a serious bid for the Iditarod 5 years ago. They still aren't sure whether they will run again, as it is so expensive. They only managed this year as Jenny Easton is from Spearfish Lake and knew both of them, so offered the money to them. They get their finisher's belt buckles at the banquet. Before they leave for Anchorage, Josh buys an engagement ring for Tiffany.
