Franklin

Franklin is the small town significant to Spearfish Lake only as being the original home of Myleigh Harris.

It has at least one high school, the recipient of a short valedictory speech.^DW08 One teacher there attempted to deny Myleigh of valedictory honors, but failed to mark her down enough.

Franklin is in the same state as Athens University, only about 50 miles distant. Trey Hartwell drove from Indiana and through Chicago to reach Franklin.^BB34 He thought the town was "nice enough, if nothing special, a lot like his own home town." at least until Myleigh had him drive to the older industrial section. The closed and boarded up factories strongly echoes a number of small rust-belt towns.
