Tim and Charlene Willoughby are a couple living on the north side of Hawthorne, Michigan. They have two sons, Jerry and Jimmy. He works with his brother's insurance agency while Charlene works as a hairdresser.^HT02

The couple adopted Dayna Berkshire as their protoge in the craft of musical busking, the art of sex, and later the business of prostitution.^HT02 Dayna's interests rekindled their own in returning to their busking roots.^HT13

Tim grew up in the Chicago area and it shows with his musical leanings were stronger in blues.^HT01 Charlene was originally from Memphis and started turning tricks there. The couple met in New Orleans and worked together on the road, including locations in San Francisco and Seattle, living something of the hippie lifestyle. They didn't get married until after Charlene was pregnant. It wasn't until a few years after both boys were born that they tried settling down near Tim's brother.^HT02
