Novato, Harold

Harold Novato, aka Harry, is a long time Spearfish Lake resident.

Harry made the mistake of teasing Barbara Matson in High School and forty years later would still "walk with a slight limp, the result of a well-aimed kick to the kneecap" by Barbara's boyfriend, Gil Evachevski.

Harold became a policeman with Spearfish Lake, usually partnered with Leroy. They respond to Ed Sloat's accident in June 1987^BAR042. In July 1987 they went along with a request from Mike McMahon to hassle two unwanted reporters from Hollywood Tonight that were after Jenny Easton. Harold and Leroy witnessed the pair run through the Main Street intersection red light at 117mph.^{BAR052 BB24}

Sometime in the 1990's Harold was made Police Chief for the town. With his old friend Gil, they formed a martial arts practice session to teach others, where he helped Brenda Hodunk learn self-defense.

It is possible he is related to Marty Novato, a train mechanic with C&SL Railroad.
