Daniel Dan Evachevski^SQ27 is father to Gil Evachevski. His wife is not mentioned nor are any other children. He has five grandchildren by Gil and Gil's wife Carrie: Jennifer, Garth (named for his unit commander), Brandy, Tara and Daniel Clark Evachevski. He was still active in the community in 1981.

In the 1930s Daniel joined the Spearfish Lake National Guard Unit, "D" Battery, 156^th Artillery under Colonel Garth Matson. The unit was called in 1940 and served in Italy, 1943 to 1945.

Both before and after the war, Daniel worked at the Clark Plywood plant in Spearfish Lake.

Daniel was a founder member of the AmVets Association in Spearfish Lake. The Post was mostly WW1 vets while AmVets was the preferred place of D Battery veterans. He served as membership chairman in 1981, becoming vice commander the following year.

Daniel has died by February 2001.^SQ27
