Shelly Goodlock is a minor character, having been brought up in Spearfish Lake, she was in the same class as John Archer at school. She now teaches at a school outside of Anchorage. Shelly gets a copy of the Spearfish Lake Record-Herald, and when she read about Josh & Tiffany entering the Iditarod, she contacted them to volunteer any assistance she could give. Acting as their Alaskan contact she has hand delivered their entries to the Iditarod office, organized kennels and stops for them. In return Josh & Tiffany have visited her school to give a talk and little sled rides to her kids. When Brandy raced up to see Phil in the race, Shelly hooked up with the pilot of the Learjet that Brandy hired, eventually marrying him.
