Summary

November and most of December pass with more work in Pass Christian, but as the work closes down for the holidays, Roger and Cat decide to return to Michigan. They leave the RV in Hattiesburg and spend a final night together in Nashville before Catalina drops Roger at his home while she returns to her own.

Roger meets the regulars at breakfest and updates them on where he has been. He is invited to talk at the Kiwanis, lunch and renewing acquaintances in town. Catalina asks for his presence to be with her as she learns of a tangled inheritance. Roger meets her mother, Bonnie, before they go to the lawyer's office.

Roger is mistaken as Catalina's lawyer and when voices escalate and her uncle Delmer tries to get her to sign things quickly, it is Roger that calms things down and all agree nothing can happen today.
