Carolyn Trilby nee Hartwell is the sister of Trey Hartwell. She was prepared to drop out of high school to marry Aaron Trilby, but her parents "forced her to stick it out" and wait until graduation^BB33. They had two boys which Trey could only think of as "Timmy or Jimmy or whatever".^BB9 She is remarkable only for her constant sniping, especially at Trey, sufficient to drive him away from the family home and town.

Trey deliberately does not invite her to his wedding to Myleigh Harris, but she comes anyway. Only the intervention of Dr. Metarie, aka Shovelhead, prevents a scene.^PE26
