Summary

Scooter has a chat with Al, who is looking better. Al tells Scooter about the canyon romace he'd had with Karin. Scooter has one of her raft, Dallas, swept overboard, but he hangs onto the raft so she is able to pull him back. Scooter gets Dallas to do some rowing on the flat stretches, and Karin is also doing some rowing.

A few days later, Jerry falls while free climbing. Randy (who had just completed his EMT course) is first on the scene; he, Crystal, and Sandy (a retired ER nurse) agree that Jerry has to be stretchered out. Crystal tells Scooter to get everything loaded up and gets Randy to row one raft. When they get to Phantom she runs for the telephone at the ranger station. (compare Dawnwalker Chapter 69).
