John Engler is a member of Bradford High School Class of 1988. He had a bit of reputation as a good lover, but as classmates Vicky Varney and Dayna Berkshire agreed later, his reputation was overblown.^HT14

John did help Dayna find an early gig playing music at a party, but he wasn't around when she tried to leave and someone was pressuring her for sex. She ended up walking to The Willoughby's not too far away. The experience sparked a new level of learning from her mentors.^HT02

John started dating fellow Bradford '88 classmate Mandy Paxton as both went to Eastern Michigan University. Sometime after this, Emily Jones told Jennlynn Swift "He and Mandy Paxton have been engaged and broke up with each other three times now."^MC04 They did get married, moving to live and work in Orlando a few years later.^HT26 By the time of their High School reunion in 1998, John had " had gone through three different wives and was looking at a fourth in the near future."^MC26
