Brett and his brother Brock were in the class of 1988 at Bradford High School, and spend a lot of time bullying other vulnerable students including Denis Riley and Steve Sharp. The principal tended to ignore this activity, and their father, Bert stuck up for them, claiming that they were just having fun.
They never made it to graduation. The two of them had teased and enraged Steve to the point where he drives his mother's Buick into their pickup truck at a combined speed of 150mph near the I-67 overpass and the Chicago Inn, killing all three of them.
