Summary

When they reach the end at Diamond Wash, Jeff tells them that Jerry is out of hospital, and staying with him & Marjorie. Crystal, Karin & Al agree to stick to a story concentrating on Karin preparing to divorce Pete. When they get back to base, Michelle is surprised to see Karin. Al tells to Michelle to arrange a discount for Randy. Michelle has got a replacement for Jerry called Bob from GCR. Michelle wants to get back on the river, but Al won't let because of her (mythical) shoulder injury. Michelle is worried about the tax reports, which Louise used to deal with, and Crystal points out that Karin may be able to deal with them. Crystal finds Randy to say goodbye, and is taken aback as he's cleaning out the rocket boxes. Crystal, Karin & Al go to Phoenix to try to find Jon, leaving Scooter to prepare for the next trip. Scooter goes to the office to chat to Michelle, who points out that her brother Mike is a police officer and has access to a variety of databases that might help in looking for Jon. Michelle and Scooter discuss hiring a sailing boat in the off season. (compare Dawnwalker Chapter 72, also Alone TogetherChapter 15).
