Summary
Bud wakes up to find that John has given him an hours sleep. When they get to Spearfish Lake he checks with Ed Sloat to see how the other engine is, which is still not ready to run. He checks with Kate to see what the had for transport to Warsaw. They load up, and take Ed Sloat with them to see what he can do with the engine in Warsaw. In Warsaw they set the scram train up as an emergency diner and sleeping quarters. Jim Horton has to evacuate the school when the wind shifts, blowing toxic smoke towards the school. The gas mask situation gets difficult when the Walsenberg fire department recharges some air bottles, but mistakenly the air is contaminated with exhaust fumes, downing 8 fire crew. Fire is discovered in the Paper Plant itself.
