Summary
Crystal asks everybody to shuffle boats and spend some time with others. So Jon and Tanisha finally get to talk with their neighbors Ben and Joy, and not about religion. Before finding work in civil engineering, Ben studied laser technology. Jon and Tanisha start talking lasers with Ben, but find themselves unable to say much about their job because it's classified. Ben does learn they created the new controller for Hadley-Monroe that he was tempted to work on, but it didn't look like there was that much interesting left to do, and in any case, he wanted to avoid Chicago. Eventually, after 10 minutes of talking about lasers, to keep Joy and Mike in the discussion, they changed topics to running and exercise. The newlyweds are invited to join them in running together.
Crystal disappoints Randy, telling him that the January raft trip will need to wait another year. When the subject of sailing comes up, Crystal points out that other men could be invited to keep the gossip down. Noah, Jim from GCR and Buddha are all possibilities. Crystal and Nicole both get angry at Randy's excuses. The conversation ends with Crystal pointing out that if all the maybes come true, "You might just get lucky enough to run in November, go surfing in December and go sailing in January!"
