Summary

Scooter has intentionally planned a short trip today to allow for afternoon hiking. Nicole is again allowed plenty of time at the oars.

The Chladeks are again together with Noah as Nanci asks about the changes in her mom. Karin does miss some changes, but "let's just enjoy the Canyon and the being together for now." She then gets Nanci to try a turn running the raft in the quiet water.

While most of the party goes hiking, Crystal asks Noah to stay behind and talk. Crystal tells more history (compare events with Dawnwalker Ch 44^DW44) and repeatedly mentions how Randy offered marriage, but she declined. Now she compares Randy's ties to Spearfish Lake and her own to Canyon Tours. She looks at Randy and Nicole's effort to overcome her fears for him and says "I miss being loved like that. I could have had it, and I blew it."
