Steve Rumsey, nicked named "Stormy" because he was born on the railroad during a blizzard as his mother Mary Rumsey was escaping the Great Warsaw fire of 1981.

In chapter 23 of Facing the Storm he approaches Josh Archer for a job on the railroad. Since he wants to race snowmachines during the winter, the railroad's operation schedule is perfect for him. Josh hires him as a brakeman.
