Gil Evachevski, a former Green Beret, served in Viet Nam. Married to Carrie and together they have five children, Jennifer, Garth, Brandy, Dan and Tara.

Gil was a main force in returning to Viet Nam to locate the remains of Henry Toivo as told in Absent Friends.

He along with others in the community have a informal self defense meetings each Wednesday in the rooms above his appliance stores.
