Dieshu, Norma

Norma (full name Norma Dieshu) is a boatman with Canyon Tours. She was one of the crew that had hiked down at Phantom Ranch to join Al Buck's wedding trip in May, 2001. She joined Mary Wells with Team 1 afterwards.
Norma is a Navajo and knows a lot about the Indian traditions associated with the Grand Canyon. She taught Al some of that lore. Like several other Canyon Tours boatmen, she was a student at Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, although Norma has plans to go to medical school afterwards.
Norma is described as "dark-haired, dark-skinned, solidly built."CF16. She has an outstanding "weather sense" which came into play in River Rat Chapter 41.
(Norma's last name was never seen in the books until River Rat ).
