Wendy is a lead character in Andromeda Chained. She had a crippling jetski accident prior to the start of the book, and is confined to a wheelchair, virtually paraplegic except for some limited movement in one hand. With some computer wizardry by Mark Gravengood she has a system known as Jeeves that handles a great many tasks that she would otherwise be unable to do, including coding web sites in HTML and handling email; Jeeves has the capability of turning the pages of books she is reading.
