According to clues in Absent Friend Gil graduated from High School and enlisted in the Army in 1951 so he was probably born in 1933 or 1934. Gil and Carrie were married in 1961 and spent the first three years of their marriage stationed in Germany where Garth and then Jennifer were born, Gil spent a tour in Vietnam between 1964 and 1965. Gil and Carrie were then stationed at Ft. Bragg NC from 1965 to 1968. While at Bragg Brandy was born in April of 1966 and Tara in March of 1968. They were next stationed back in Germany from 1968 until 1971. Their last, Daniel was born in Germany in 1969. He served in Korea with them before transferring to Special Forces.
