Chet, wife Lydia, sons Tom and Ken. A farmer living near Arvada Center, he intends that the family farm should go to Tom, however Tom's death in an accident means that Ken has to take over. Chet is concerned when Ken takes up with Judy Niven as she was crippled in a road accident, The Sorensen's Uncle Ed had been crippled in the Korean war and had spent the rest of his life complaining about it.
