Summary
With effort and some strategy, Al Buck grabs folks to send two rafts early with folks selected to allow Randy and Noah time at the oars without complaints from former employees.
Although the distance to be travelled is short, it includes three big rapids: Granite, Hermit and Crystal. Nicole surprises Randy with her upbeat daring, obviously willing and even excited, a far different emotion after her prior fears.
There is some discussion for a small possible January trip through the Canyon. It would be cold and days short, but with an intimacy that would make such a trip worthwhile. Crystal and Scooter still plan to vacation at B&G's Surf Shop come winter. It's still too early for detailed planning though, especially since the Trip Leaders will be apart for most of the season.
Noah and Randy alternate as lead raft through the big rapids, with the first through stopping to photo the trailing raft. Although everybody gets wet, they all have fun. Myleigh appears thoughtful. In running Crystal, Randy finishes it backwards, not by design, but as Scooter declares "ABC. That's all that counts. Alive Below Crystal."
