Pete Chladek is the wife of Karin and the father of Crystal, Jon and Nanci. He married Karin probably in fall of 1974 (soon after Karin's return from her Canyon Adventure). He is an engineer for Hadley-Monroe Industries, where he developed the controller for a Laser Die Cutter, probably around when he met Karin. He is a competent engineer, but over the years that he was married to Karin, became a stubborn opiniated crusty 'grumpy old fart' with a fierce temper and strong racist views. His temper and racism eventually drive away Crystal and Jon, and Karin divorces him. He finally kicks out Nanci too, and so loses all his family.
