Pam Appleton is a Spearfish Lake High School graduate and presumed member of their softball team. She went on to work on her Master's in herpetology at Athens University with Professor Frank Gerjevic. She spent most of her summer of 1987 looking for a Gibson's Water Snake in the sewers of Spearfish Lake. She is a prominent character in Busted Axle Road.
